Dr. Rohit Mathur

Dr. Rohit Mathur qualified as a Cardiologist with a Gold Medal at the DM (Cardiology) postdoctoral, superspeciality degree examination from CSJM University in 2010. He was also a gold medalist in his Under-graduate (MBBS) degree exam. Presently, Dr. Mathur works as Associate Professor of Cardiology in the Department of Cardiology at Dr. SN Medical College in Jodhpur, and its attached hospitals. The department is equipped with a Cath Lab, EP Lab, FFR, Vivid 9 Dimension GE Echo Machine, Holter Machine, 16-bed CCU, 14-bed Cath Recovery Room, Cath lab ,General Wards and OPD. Dr. Mathur attends to both OPD as well as inpatients, seeing about 300 outpatients, and doing 60 Echo Tests, 80 Diagnostic and 35-40 Therapeutic Cath procedures per month. In addition, he takes regular Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching classes. Dr. Mathur has perticular experience of doing:-

Complex Coronary angioplasties including Bifurcation stenting, Left main Angioplasties, Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL or Shockwave angioplasty) for calcific lesions, Rota-ablation, IVUS guided angioplasties.

Device closure of Congenital Heart disease like Atrial septal defects(ASD), Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).

Balloon valvuloplasty of Mitral stenosis (BMV/PTMC), Baloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (BPV).

Dual chamber pacemakers, AICD implantations, CRT-P and CRT-D implantations.

Peripheral angioplasties including Carotid, Subclavian, Renal, Celiac, mesentric, Iliac and femoral artery angioplasties.

Aortic interventions like Angioplasty of Coarctation of Aorta.

Venous intervention in DVT/Pulmonary embolism and IVC filter placement.

Tumour Embolisation and embolisation of bleeding vessels as in hemoptysis, DUB and hematuria.

Dr. Mathur completed his MBBS from the University of Rajasthan in 2001 with Gold Medals in all three years. In the Final year he was awarded Gold Medals in Medicine, Surgery and Gynaecology & Obstetrics. He then did his MD in Medicine from the University of Rajasthan in 2006 prior to moving to Kanpur for the DM course.

As a Medical Officer, Dr. Mathur worked on a WHO-sanctioned research project on Hypertension. Prior to his current assignment in Jodhpur, he gained experience as an Interventional Cardiologist for a total of two years, first at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi (16 months) and then at Sai Krishna Hi-Tech Multi Super Speciality Hospital & Research Institute, Mehsana (6 months).

Dr. Mathur has attended several Cardiology conferences, training programmes and workshops, and has co-authored several articles that have been published in reputed indexed journals. He has read many papers at state level and national level conferences in the Medicine and Cardiology fields.
